Phoenix Club to Host Third Annual ’The Night of the Phoenix’

The Phoenix Club will once again host ‘The Night of the Phoenix’ featuring Giovanni Livera as a fundraising event on Friday, February 19, 2010. The event, held in Alumni Gymnasium on Elon’s campus, will begin with a social hour at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner with a silent auction being held throughout the event. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Phoenix Club in support of student-athlete scholarships and will count towards 2009-10 fundraising efforts.

Each month the Southern Conference features a student-athlete from around the league in a series called the SoCon Spotlight. This month’s SoCon Spotlight focuses on Elon senior men’s soccer player Steven Kinney. A exceptional defender for the Phoenix, Kinney also takes time to work with kids from the Burlington Soccer Club and also visited Honduras as a part of a mission trip. Women's Basketball Welcomes St. Andrews for 5 p.m. Contest

The Elon women’s basketball team continues its season with a game against St. Andrews on Friday evening at 5 p.m. The Phoenix owns a 1-1 record entering tonight’s matchup with a win against Youngstown State and a loss to Navy.The Elon men’s basketball team will play Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham in its home opener immediately following the women’s game. Live stats and video streaming will be available for the game.

Phoenix to Host Devils in Home Opener at Alumni Gym

The Elon men’s basketball team will look to get back in the win column when it opens its home season against the Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham Devils on Friday night in Alumni Gym. Tip time is set for 7 p.m. Video streaming and audio for the game will be available through Phoenix All Access. Fans can also listen to Greg Kerr call all the action on the Elon ISP Sports Network on WPCM 920 AM. The game will be broadcast on tape delay following the conclusion of high school football on 920 AM.
