Story Elon to Hold Fourth Annual Football 101 Women's Clinic7/29/2010Elon will hold its 4th Annual Football 101 Women’s Clinic, presented by Grove Winery and Fire Salon, on Sunday, August 15 at Rhodes Stadium starting at 4 p.m. and concluding at 8 p.m. The cost to attend this year’s Football 101 clinic is $35 for non-Phoenix Club members and $25 for those who are members of the Phoenix Club. Included in the cost is a t-shirt, food, wine and a game ticket for the September 11 game.
Story SoCon Football Teams to Honor Gulf Coast Region7/27/2010Southern Conference football teams will show their support for those being negatively impacted along the Gulf Coast by wearing helmet decals with the initials “GC” during the 2010 football season. More than 170 SoCon football players come from states that share a coastline being affected by the oil spill. The nine institutions that play SoCon football agreed to display the decals to express their support and encouragement for the people living in the region.
Story Riddle Named Preseason Player of the Year; Elon Picked 2nd7/26/2010Elon quarterback Scott Riddle has been selected as the Southern Conference’s Preseason Offensive Player of the Year by the league’s coaches while the Phoenix was tabbed to place second in the conference by both the coaches and media as released on Monday. Including Riddle, the Elon program placed six players on the preseason all-conference squad.
