Taylor Virden

    Volunteer Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach
Virden is in her first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Phoenix after a successful playing career at Duke University where she helped the Blue Devils to four consecutive NCAA quarterfinal appearances, including the national semifinal in 2011.
 
Virden was a two-time first team All-America selection on defense and the first Duke player to earn that honor since 2008. She was also a three-time All-South Region pick and a two-time All-ACC selection. Virden finished her career second all-time in draw controls (184), ninth in caused turnovers (77) and 16th in ground balls (121). Off the field, she was a four-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree, a four-year member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll and the 2014 Duke Female Scholar Athlete of the Year.
 
A native of Ellicott City, Md., she graduated from Duke in 2014 with a degree in Visual and Media Studies with certificates in Markets and Management Studies and Arts of the Moving Image.
 
Virden is currently pursing a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies at Duke.
