Elon Women’s Basketball Tabbed 10th in Preseason Poll

The Elon women’s basketball team was picked to finish 10th in the Southern Conference, according to a vote by the league’s coaches. For the third straight year, Chattanooga was selected to win the SoCon regular-season title and received nine first-place votes. The Phoenix will host the Apprentice School on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m., in an exhibition game before opening its regular season on Friday Nov. 13 at 7 p.m., against Youngstown State in the Phoenix Classic Presented by Comfort Inn.

Elon to Host Local Rival UNCG in Critical Conference Clash

The Elon men’s soccer team looks to secure a spot in the upcoming Southern Conference Tournament this weekend when it hosts local league rival UNC Greensboro on Saturday, November 7 at Rudd Field at 7 p.m. Phoenix fans should plan to arrive early to enjoy a slice of pizza and a cup of hot chocolate and pick up some thunderstix to cheer on the home team. The Phoenix will also honor seven seniors for their contributions to Elon soccer prior to the kick on Saturday.

The sixth-ranked Elon Phoenix will pay a visit to Western Carolina this weekend for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff from E.J. Whitmire Stadium in Cullowhee, N.C. on Saturday. The Phoenix enters with a 7-1 overall record and 5-0 SoCon ledger while the Catamounts are 1-7, 1-5 following a 24-20 defeat at Chattanooga last weekend.
