SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- After setting three Southern Conference records in Elon's 28-14 victory over Georgia Southern on Saturday, Elon junior quarterback Scott Riddle was honored as the SoCon's Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.  There was also little movement in this week's national polls as the Phoenix checked in at No. 12 in one poll and remained steady at 13th in the other.

In the national polls, the Phoenix (3-1, 1-0 SoCon) improved one spot in The Sports Network poll as the squad moved up to 12th.  In the FCS Coaches Poll, Elon remained steady at No. 13.  Richmond continues to sit first in both polls.

"Scott's junior season is off to a very good start and I am pleased that he is receiving some recognition for it," said Elon head coach Pete Lembo.  "Hopefully, both he and our offense can continue to improve as we enter a difficult stretch of conference games in October."

In Saturday's victory, Riddle passed for 338 yards and a touchdown while also adding a score on a 19-yard run.  In just his 26th collegiate game, Riddle became the SoCon's all-time leader in both passing yards (7,893) and pass completions (705).  The Ramseur, N.C. native also set a league mark by extending his streak of pass attempts without an interception to 218 before throwing a late pick on Saturday.  This marks the fourth time in his career that Riddle has earned the league's Offensive Player of the Week accolade.

Riddle has passed for 1,205 yards and 10 touchdowns in four games this season.  He has completed 62.7 percent of his 153 attempts.

With Riddle's help, the Phoenix offense is churning out an average of 468.75 yards per game, ranking second in the nation.  Elon's offense is also putting up 33.0 points per outing to rank 17th in the country.

Riddle shared the POW honors with The Citadel's Bart Blanchard who threw six touchdown passes, tying a SoCon record as he became the fifth quarterback in league history to accomplish this feat.  He threw for 263 yards in the Bulldogs' win over Presbyterian.
