SPARTANBURG, S.C.
– Elon senior Justin Wyatt was selected as the Southern Conference Men’s Soccer
Player of the Month for his performance throughout the month of October. Wyatt
assisted on four goals while scoring two of his own and helped the Phoenix to a
5-2-1 mark last month.
Wyatt’s two scores were game-winners, including the lone
goal in Elon’s 1-0 win at College of Charleston on Oct. 6. The victory was Elon’s
first-ever on CofC’s home field. The native of Raleigh, N.C., also guided the
Phoenix to a 2-0 victory at Radford last week. Wyatt assisted on the winning
goal in Elon’s 1-0 win at Appalachian State and had two helpers in the
Phoenix’s triumph over Winthrop. The midfielder has now scored 30 career goals,
11 of which have been game-winners. Wyatt is the SoCon’s active career leader
in goals, game-winning goals, points (77) and assists (17).
The Phoenix will be back in action for a critical conference
matchup against local rival UNC Greensboro on Saturday, November 7 at Rudd
Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
