SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Elon sophomore Caroline Lemke, an outside hitter and middle blocker and native of Carmel, Ind. was named the Southern Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for all games played the week of October 25. Lemke hit .455 in Elon’s two matches, averaging 3.71 kills per set, and tallied seven blocks, including two solos, to lead the team in wins over Samford and Chattanooga. It is the first time a Phoenix volleyball player has been named the player of the week since Elon joined the SoCon in 2003.

Lemke, a business fellow, hit .400 or better in each match over the weekend. In Elon’s 3-0 sweep of Samford, Lemke recorded an attack percentage of .400 while posting eight kills and four errors. She committed just two hitting errors against the Bulldogs.

Against Chattanooga, Lemke hit .483 and tallied a season-high 18 kills. She also added three blocks.
