SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- For the second time this season, Elon junior wide receiver Aaron Mellette was honored as the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week.  He was also dubbed the National Wide Receiver of the Week by College Football Performance Awards.

Mellette collected the accolade after catching 14 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown against eight-ranked Appalachian State.  He was just one yard shy of matching his career high which he set earlier this season.  It was Mellette's ninth 100-yard receiving game of the 2011 season and the 15th of his career.  His 1,639 receiving yards (113 catches) on the year were a new Elon and SoCon record, eclipsing the mark of former Phoenix wide out Terrell Hudgins by three yards.

Mellette concluded the regular season as the FCS national leader in both receptions per game (10.27) and receiving yards per game (149.0).
