ELON, N.C. -- Elon Athletics has announced that 2011 Elon alumnus Carl Hairston has been hired as the department's assistant director of marketing.

Hairston returns to Elon after spending the past six months working in Charlotte, N.C., as a district manager at Automatic Data Processing where he was responsible for generating new business clients and ensuring quality service.

While a student at Elon, Hairston served as a marketing intern in the athletic department and also assisted in ticket operations.  He was also very active on campus as he was the president of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., the vice president of Black Cultural Society and a resident advisor.  Hairston was named the 2011 University Organization Member of the Year.

Hairston earned his bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis on marketing.
