ITA Division I Men's Rankings
ELON, N.C. – Winners of seven straight matches, the Elon University men’s tennis team cracked the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) national team rankings on Tuesday, March 26, after coming in at No. 72.
The Phoenix maintains an 11-4 mark this season, including a perfect 6-0 record against Southern Conference competition. Elon came up with a pair of road victories last weekend against Chattanooga on March 23 and 57th-ranked Samford on March 24.
Junior
Cameron Silverman remains in the ITA national singles rankings at No. 45, while Silverman and
Stefan Fortmann rank 34th in the country in doubles play. Silverman is 10-5 (5-1 Southern Conference) in singles action this year and has twice been named the Southern Conference’s Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. Silverman and Fortmann own a 10-3 (6-0 Southern Conference) mark in doubles play.
The Phoenix returns to action this weekend in Murfreesboro, Tenn., for the Middle Tennessee State University Shootout. Elon earned a No. 2 seed in the eight-team field and open the tournament on Saturday, March 30, against seventh-seeded Florida Atlantic at 12 p.m. For a complete tournament bracket,
