ELON, N.C. -- It was announced today, May 17, that Dex Blank (Elon, N.C./The Elon School) will be joining the Elon men's golf program next season.
Blank served as a team captain at The Elon School for the 2012-13 year and was named team MVP in 2012. As a senior, he helped the program capture its second consecutive North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association state title. Blank was the tournament's runner-up after tying for first, but falling in a playoff. He also collected all-state honors during his senior campaign. In 2012, he earned all-league honors from the Triad Athletic Conference, was a NCISAA 1A All-State Team selection and finished fourth at the NCISAA 1A Championships. His performance on the links helped The Elon School to a 2011 TAC title, a 2011 NCISAA 1A runner-up finish and a 2012 NCISAA 1A crown. As a member of the basketball team, Blank collected team MVP honors in 2011-12 and was an all-region honoree that same season. He also collected honorable mention all-conference honors.
A Straight 'A' Honor Roll student who served as president of the student council this year, Dex is the son of Dave, Elon University's Director of Athletics, and Leslie Blank.
