URBANA, Ill. – Elon University junior men’s tennis standout
Cameron Silverman saw his stellar 2013 season come to an end on Thursday, May 23, following a 6-2, 6-2, setback to Michigan’s 13th-ranked Evan King in the second round of the NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles Championships.

Silverman, ranked 67th nationally, ends his singles campaign with a 15-9 record. Silverman will team up with
Stefan Fortmann at 2:30 p.m. today in doubles to take on Texas A&M’s Junior Ore and Jackson Winthrow.
King (31-4) broke Silverman’s serve early in the first set to take a 1-0 lead. But Silverman rallied back, pulling within one, 3-2, shortly thereafter. But King proved to be too much from there, winning the first set, 6-2.
After falling behind 1-0 in the second set, Silverman stormed back to take a 2-1 lead after breaking. But King rallied back, taking the next five points to win the set and the match, 6-2.
King advances to the Round of 16 tomorrow.
