Judy Paces Elon to Tie for Ninth in Final Fall Tourney

The Elon men's golf team improved six spots after firing a final round 285 to finish with a two-round score of 580 and placed in a tie for ninth among the 18 teams at The Hummingbird Intercollegiate hosted by Western Carolina on Tuesday. Jayson Judy led the Phoenix push with a final round of 71, which, when combined with his first round score of 70, gave the senior a 141 to tie for 10th individually. Furman took home the team title with a two round score of 567.

Judy Leads Elon at Hummingbird Intercollegiate

Jayson Judy shot a one-under par 70 to tie for eighth individually while the Elon Phoenix sits in a tie for 15th place with a first round 295 following Monday's round of The Hummingbird Intercollegiate hosted by Western Carolina at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley. Kentucky leads the 18-team field with a five-under 279. The final round will be played on Tuesday in Sapphire, N.C.

Phoenix Struggles at ODU/Seascape Invitational

The Elon men's golf program finished its two rounds of the 2009 ODU/Seascape Invitational with a total score of 612 (312-300) to place 12th among the 14 competing schools. Jayson Judy was the top finisher for the Phoenix with a 147 (73-74) to tie for 13th in the 73-golfer field. The Phoenix will participate in its final fall tournament, The Hummingbird Intercollegiate, on Nov. 2-3 in Sapphire, N.C.

Judy Four Strokes Back at ODU/Seascape

Elon's Jayson Judy shot a one-over par 73 and sits in a tie for second place during the first round of the 2009 ODU/Seascape Intercollegiate while the Phoenix sits in 10th place among the 14-team field after posting a round of 312. Host Old Dominion leads the field following a round of 298 on Monday. The final round will be played on Tuesday at the par-70 Seascape Golf Course in Kitty Hawk, N.C.

Judy Places Third at Davidson College Invitational

Phil Bartholomew shot a final round 68 and Jayson Judy finished in third place, but the Elon Phoenix men's golf team finished ninth out of the 12-team field at the Davidson College Invitational on Tuesday. Judy carded a third round 74 to go with his rounds of 74 and 73 on Monday to finish with a total score of 221. As a team, the Phoenix shot rounds of 309-309-301 for a final tally of 919.

Elon Battles Cool Temperatures, Rain at Davidson Invite

Playing in rainy conditions with temperatures hovering in the mid-50s, the Elon men's golf team struggled through 36 holes on the first day of the Davidson College Invitational to sit in ninth place among the 12 participating programs. The Phoenix posted a two-round score of 618 (309-309). Liberty leads the field after firing a 591 (287-304) on Monday. Jayson Judy's 147 (74-73) paces Elon. Round three gets under way at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning for the Phoenix.

The Elon men's golf team shot a 285 in the final round of the Sea Trail Men's Intercollegiate to finish in a tie for sixth place with a final score of 870. Jayson Judy led Elon in the tournament, placing in a tie for 10th with a three-day score of 212 (71-70-71). Tanner Norton shot a three-under-par 69 on Sunday to led the Phoenix. Stetson took home the team championship while Wofford placed second and James Madison finished third.

The Elon men's golf team shot a 293 in the second round of the Sea Trail Intercollegiate and currently sits in 12th place with a two-round score of 585. Jayson Judy led the Phoenix on Saturday with a two-under-par 70 and sits in a tie for seventh (71-70--141). Wofford and Stetson are currently tied for first with a two-round score of 557. James Madison sits in third (569), Campbell is currently fourth (575) and Belmont Abbey sits in fifth place (580).

The Elon men's golf team sits in ninth place after the first round of the Sea Trail Men's Intercollegiate on Friday morning. Phil Bartholomew posted a two-under-par 70 and sits in a tie for 11th place to lead the Phoenix. Sam Ryder shot a six-under-par 66 to lead the field and guide the Stetson Hatters to the top spot with a score of 274. Wofford sits in second (279) and James Madison is third with a score of 280.

Judy Ties for Individual Title at Opening Tournament

Elon's Jayson Judy carded a final round score of 70 and a three-round total of 207 to finish tied for medalists honors with Appalachian State's Casey Johnson in the Springhill Suites Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Led by Judy's strong performance, the Phoenix (289-287-289--865) finished the tournament in a fifth-place tie among the 16 participating institutions while Georgia Southern won the team title for the second straight year.
