Four Men's Golfers Qualify for N.C. Amateur Match Play X [7/26/2010] The upcoming North Carolina Amateur Match Play Championship will feature four golfers from the Elon program. Tanner Norton, Clay Holland, John Somers and Craig Wood will all compete in the event August 4-8 at the Country Club of Salisbury. The North Carolina Amateur Match Play Championship was created when the Carolinas Amateur Championship format was changed to a stroke play event. Elon Places 13th at Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate X [2/23/2010] Wake Forest shot a second-round 290 to overcome a four-stroke deficit and claim the team title of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Elon's squad finished 13th in the field of 17 with a score of 609 (305-304) and was led by Scott Hockemeyer's 146 (74-72). Phoenix Sits 14th After One Round of First Spring Event X [2/22/2010] Battling through poor conditions during Monday's first round of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate, the Elon Phoenix men's golf team shot a 305 to sit in a tie for 14th among the 17 participating programs. Scott Hockemeyer's round of 74 led the Phoenix. Hockemeyer's +2 placed him in a tie for 20th among the 90-golfer field. Due to the weather, Monday's scheduled 36 holes was shortened to just 18. Judy Paces Elon to Tie for Ninth in Final Fall Tourney X [11/4/2009] The Elon men's golf team improved six spots after firing a final round 285 to finish with a two-round score of 580 and placed in a tie for ninth among the 18 teams at The Hummingbird Intercollegiate hosted by Western Carolina on Tuesday. Jayson Judy led the Phoenix push with a final round of 71, which, when combined with his first round score of 70, gave the senior a 141 to tie for 10th individually. Judy Leads Elon at Hummingbird Intercollegiate X [11/2/2009] Jayson Judy shot a one-under par 70 to tie for eighth individually while the Elon Phoenix sits in a tie for 15th place with a first round 295 following Monday's round of The Hummingbird Intercollegiate hosted by Western Carolina at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley. Phoenix Struggles at ODU/Seascape Invitational X [10/27/2009] The Elon men's golf program finished its two rounds of the 2009 ODU/Seascape Invitational with a total score of 612 (312-300) to place 12th among the 14 competing schools. Jayson Judy was the top finisher for the Phoenix with a 147 (73-74) to tie for 13th in the 73-golfer field. Judy Four Strokes Back at ODU/Seascape X [10/26/2009] Elon's Jayson Judy shot a one-over par 73 and sits in a tie for second place during the first round of the 2009 ODU/Seascape Intercollegiate while the Phoenix sits in 10th place among the 14-team field after posting a round of 312. Judy Places Third at Davidson College Invitational X [10/13/2009] Phil Bartholomew shot a final round 68 and Jayson Judy finished in third place, but the Elon Phoenix men's golf team finished ninth out of the 12-team field at the Davidson College Invitational on Tuesday. Judy carded a third round 74 to go with his rounds of 74 and 73 on Monday to finish with a total score of 221. As a team, the Phoenix shot rounds of 309-309-301 for a final tally of 919. Elon Battles Cool Temperatures, Rain at Davidson Invite X [10/12/2009] Playing in rainy conditions with temperatures hovering in the mid-50s, the Elon men's golf team struggled through 36 holes on the first day of the Davidson College Invitational to sit in ninth place among the 12 participating programs. The Phoenix posted a two-round score of 618 (309-309). Liberty leads the field after firing a 591 (287-304) on Monday. Jayson Judy's 147 (74-73) paces Elon. Elon Men Finish Tied for Sixth at Sea Trail Intercollegiate X [9/27/2009] The Elon men's golf team shot a 285 in the final round of the Sea Trail Men's Intercollegiate to finish in a tie for sixth place with a final score of 870. Jayson Judy led Elon in the tournament, placing in a tie for 10th with a three-day score of 212 (71-70-71). Tanner Norton shot a three-under-par 69 on Sunday to led the Phoenix.
