Hudgins Sets FCS Record as No. 6 Elon Cruises Past Wofford X [10/31/2009] Senior wide receiver Terrell Hudgins hauled in three touchdown passes for the second straight week and finished with 153 receiving yards while setting the new FCS career record with 24 100-yard games to lead Elon to a 34-6 Southern Conference victory at Wofford on Saturday. Elon's Defense Dominates in 43-7 Win Over The Citadel X [10/10/2009] A dominating defensive performance and a few quick strikes early lifted the 10th-ranked Elon Phoenix to a 43-7 Southern Conference victory over the visiting Bulldogs of The Citadel from Rhodes Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Elon is now 5-1 overall and 3-0 in SoCon play and picked up its first-ever back-to-back wins over the Bulldogs. The Citadel dropped to 2-3, 0-2. Hudgins Sets Record, Shreiner Boots Elon Past Furman X [10/3/2009] Adam Shreiner's 37-yard field goal with two seconds remaining lifted the Elon Phoenix to a 19-12 victory over the home-standing Furman Paladins on Saturday afternoon. Elon's Terrell Hudgins tied a career-high with 16 catches and piled up 209 yards and one score on his way to becoming the all-time NCAA Division I leader with 331 career grabs. Riddle Sets SoCon Records in Win Over Georgia Southern X [9/26/2009] The Elon Phoenix became just the second Southern Conference program to earn three consecutive league victories over the Georgia Southern Eagles by claiming a 28-14 decision from a rainy Rhodes Stadium in front of 10,189 fans on Family Weekend. In the victory, Elon quarterback Scott Riddle set new SoCon records for career completions and career passing yards. Elon Totals 614 Total Yards in Rout of Presbyterian X [9/12/2009] Scott Riddle set Southern Conference records by passing for 300 or more yards for the 13th time in his career and throwing touchdown passes 60, 61, 62 and 63 for his career as the Elon Phoenix (2-0) romped over the host Presbyterian Blue Hose (0-2) by a 41-7 margin on Saturday afternoon from Bailey Memorial Stadium. Phoenix Rolls Over Wildcats, 56-0, in Season Opener X [9/5/2009] Quarterback Scott Riddle threw for 326 yards and four touchdowns and the Elon defense was relentless as the 11th-ranked Phoenix shut out the visiting Davidson Wildcats, 56-0, in the season-opener at Rhodes Stadium on Saturday night in the first meeting between the two schools since 1954. Gooch, Mills Claim Top Awards at Elon Athletics Banquet X [5/12/2009] Senior All-Southern Conference men’s tennis standout Damon Gooch (Gauteng, South Africa/Edenvale) and senior All-Southern Conference women’s golfer Danielle Mills (Point-Claire, Quebec, Canada/St. Thomas) came away with Stein H. Basnight Outstanding Athlete Award honors to top all accolades bestowed at the 35th Annual Elon University Athletics Awards Banquet Tuesday evening at Alumni Gymnasium. The Stein H.
