Gonzalez Earns Player of the Month Honors X [6/17/2010] Jackie Gonzalez of the 2010 Southern Conference Champion Elon softball team was named the SoCon Player of the Month for May. It is the first time in her career that she has earned the honor and the second time this season that a member of the Phoenix squad took home player of the month honors. Reyes Nabs Final SoCon Pitcher of the Month Honor X [6/17/2010] A perfect 3-0 mark in three May starts earned Elon junior left-hander Jimmy Reyes Southern Conference Pitcher of the Month honors. It is the first such accolade for Reyes during his three seasons with the Phoenix. The Miami, Fla. native surrendered just four runs in 24.0 innings on the mound in the month of May. He totaled 24 strikeouts and posted a 6-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio while allowing only two extra-base hits. Go to Article	6/17/2010
Reichenbach Inks Free Agent Deal With Cleveland Indians X [6/15/2010] Elon lefty J.D. Reichenbach became the seventh Phoenix baseball player to receive the opportunity to move his game to the professional ranks as he has signed a free agent contract with the Cleveland Indians. During his senior season with the Phoenix Reichenbach logged 31.1 innings on the mound, striking out 22 hitters. In 4.2 relief innings at then-24th-ranked North Carolina, Reichenbach fanned a career-high six hitters. He appeared in 16 games, making four starts. Go to Article	6/15/2010
Elon Leads the Way With Three on All-State Baseball Team X [6/12/2010] With three selections, the Elon baseball team led all programs represented on the 2010 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State Baseball Team. It is the second consecutive year that the Phoenix has placed the most players on the team. Elon was represented by senior catcher Mike Melillo, who was picked for the second straight year, junior shortstop Neal Pritchard and junior starting pitcher Jimmy Reyes on the squad. Three More Elon Players Taken on Final Day of MLB Draft X [6/9/2010] Mike Melillo became the fourth member of the Elon Phoenix baseball team to be selected in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft when the Milwaukee Brewers selected the senior catcher in the 31st round on Wednesday. Melillo was the 939th overall selection. Melillo was then joined by Ken Ferrer (35th round, number 1050 overall to the Cleveland Indians) and Justin Hilt (36th round, number 1081st overall to the Arizona Diamondbacks). Reyes, Girdwood and Britt All Nabbed in MLB Draft X [6/8/2010] Elon junior pitcher Jimmy Reyes became the first Phoenix player selected in the 2010 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft when the Texas Rangers grabbed the lefty in the seventh round. He was the 226th overall selection. He was followed in the draft by junior right-handed pitcher Thomas Girdwood who was chosen in the 15th round (465th overall) by the Minnesota Twins and senior righty Daniel Britt who was selected in the 29th round (879th overall) by the Milwaukee Brewers. Elon Drops NCAA Opener to #29 Alabama X [6/4/2010] A six-run fourth inning helped lead 29th-ranked Alabama to an 11-2 victory over Elon in the opening game of the 2010 Atlanta Regional in the NCAA Baseball Championships. The Phoenix dropped to 38-23 on the year while the Crimson Tide improved to 38-22. Elon will take on the loser of the Mercer-Georgia Tech game at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Reyes Hurls Gem, Wood Scores Game-Winner in Ninth X [5/27/2010] Jimmy Reyes hurled his second complete game shutout of the season and David Wood scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth to lead the fourth-seeded Elon Phoenix to a 1-0 victory over the fifth-seeded Samford Bulldogs in its 2010 Southern Conference Baseball Tournament opener on Wednesday night. It was the first 1-0 tournament game since 2006. The win improved Elon to 37-20 on the season while Samford dropped to 30-24. Elon is now 7-0 in SoCon Tournament openers. Go to Article	5/27/2010
