Women’s Tennis Hosts Invitational to Open Fall Season

Although play was delayed for much of the day due to inclement weather, the Elon women’s tennis team was able to open its fall season on Friday afternoon, hosting Longwood, Campbell and UNC Wilmington at the Elon Fall Invitational. Due to the rain, matches were played at both the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center on campus and the Burlington Tennis Center. Simonetti Takes Home Individual Crown at Fall Invitational

Elon sophomore Elisa Simonetti led the Phoenix women’s tennis team at the Elon Fall Invite, winning all three of her singles matches to earn the individual singles title with 21 total points. Senior Anna Milian was close behind with 16 points after recording a 2-1 mark during competition. UNC Wilmington’s Christina Lee tallied 16 singles points as well. Milian Takes Third at Hokie Fall Invitational

Elon senior Anna Milian went 3-1 in singles action as the Elon women’s tennis team continued its fall season at the 16th Annual Hokie Fall Invitational at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on the campus of Virginia Tech. Milian took third place in the Flight A singles bracket, defeating Tech’s Christin Newman, 6-3, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon. Women’s Tennis Competes at Davidson Invitational

Several members of the Elon women’s tennis team competed at the Davidson Fall Invitational this weekend. Sophomore Lauren Sessoms, junior Jessica Margolis and senior Haley Wahl were each victorious during competition. Women’s Tennis Closes Fall Season at ITA Regionals

Senior Anna Milian and freshman Briana Berne each earned wins in the final fall tune-up for the Elon women’s tennis team at the 2009 Wilson/ITA Regional Championships hosted by Wake Forest University. Women’s Tennis Falls at #39 Wake Forest in Season Opener

The Elon women’s tennis team opened the 2010 season with a challenging task — facing the 39th-ranked Wake Forest Demon Deacons at Leighton Stadium on Saturday morning. The Deacons took the 7-0 victory, but Elon head coach Elizabeth Anderson saw promising things from her Phoenix squad that returns four seniors.
