The Fire of the Carolinas is a contemporary college marching band. As the "Soundtrack of Elon Football" the band performs at all home football games, at select away football games, and at various University events throughout the fall. The band is open to any student at Elon University, regardless of major, with previous experience playing a wind or percussion instrument, or experience in color guard or twirling. However, no prior marching band experience is necessary to join, and no audition is required (expect for feature twirlers). The band performs 3-4 high energy, entertainment focused halftime shows every year that includes a wide variety of music from classic rock, pop, and jazz, to modern alternative and current popular music. The band also performs a full collegiate pregame show and in the stands throughout the game (no boredom here!). The FOTC has a low time commitment compared to most college bands, rehearsing just twice a week, allowing members to participate in multiple music ensembles or other campus activities. The band has a close-knit, family atmosphere and has A LOT of fun! Members also receive a small scholarship that increases every year of participation in the band. For more information,

There are no auditions to join, and while the majority of members also participate in the marching band, there are no prerequisites to joining (other then past instrumental experience). Members also receive a small scholarship based on their number of games played. For more information,
