Cheerleading
The Elon University Cheer Team consists of 20 to 26 members and athletes are recognized as varsity student-athletes at the University. Primary responsibilities for athletes include home football games, home basketball games for both men's and women's hoops, community relations events and community service events. Cheerleaders are expected to cheer over breaks, during holidays, January term, both the men's and women's basketball tournaments and football playoff games.
Youth Cheer Team
Formed in 2010, the Elon Youth Cheerleading Team is an experience unique to Elon University. The team is made up of faculty, staff, and donor children who are in second to sixth grade. This team cheers the first half of all home football games as well as select home men’s and women’s basketball games in December. Each year, the team meets in early June for uniform fittings and practices weekly August through November. Please reach out to Rhonda Belton (
